"Tony has such an easy, funny and entertaining rapport with the children and he targeted the stories and the songs to exactly the right level. The children loved what he did and I've never seen them sit for so long or concentrate so well. A really professional and enjoyable experience for the staff and the children." Reception Teacher Sunderland November 2012
I was early years' trained and, having stayed at home and brought up my own children since birth, I am extremely experienced in delivering to the Youngest of children.
AIM. To give children a pleasurable, interactive experience of oral storytelling to help develop their enjoyment of the English language and their ability to concentrate and listen.
I have a wide range of experience with children in the early years’ sector and I tell traditional stories where the children are active participants in the storytelling. I have worked throughout the country for Sure Start and a huge variety of Book launches for the F.S. (‘Chatter matters’/ ‘SPLATT’/ ‘Reading together’).
I use these sessions in an entertaining way to outline the importance of storytelling and I encourage children to see themselves as authors, without the need to be able to write.
The role of adults in modelling this process is demonstrated in a form that can be reproduced by the professionals watching. I am offering whole school training starting in F.S. with practical demonstrations of story telling to F.S. practitioners, with a later dialogue about story telling techniques.
